It seems right in every way that this women's gathering be hosted by Zapatista sisters who have endured so much and have remained strong and true and sovereign in their hearts' purpose. It's inspirational. I wish I could go! I hope that some of my sisters here at Op-Ed News will go. I hope that conscious men everywhere will support and embrace women's councils, as they have been in existence as long as women have - just as all the men-only groups and brotherhoods have. The world needs women's wisdom now if we are to get free of patriarchy and hierarchical greed.
