In "Mr Smith Goes to Washington" the little guy is up against insider corruption. Now, imagine teachers to be the little guy, and witness how the powerful multimillionaire Art Pope, who controls politics in No. Carolina, used his fortune to defeat moderate GOPs so his ideological allies could gain control of the party and push it to the far right. Like Taylor, in the movie, he controls the media, and he has placed articles in the press, boasting of No. Carolina's progress in school reform!  Stuart Egan, does not have the access to the media that is granted to the powerful, but writes open letters to on his blog. Egan .  In Egan's latest open letter,  takes apart the false claims, one by one, to show how the public has been hoodwinked by the John Locke Foundation and the state government, Pure Orwell:  praising teachers while undermining their profession and their pay.
