18. Did you know John McCain's technical prowess rises to the level of "inventing (or setting up sufficient technology to allow the invention of) the Blackberry"? "and Wi-Fi, and cell phones". This contention was made by Douglas Holst-Eaken, one of McCain's surrogates. This, even though McCain doesn't know how to e-mail or use a computer. Yeah, right. AGE?
19. Palin cut the Alaska Special Olympics budget in half ... yet claims she supports special needs kids. She claimed over and over that she "killed the bridge to nowhere" ... when she didn't kill it ... the U. S. Congress did. McCain likewise has touted that lie. A lie is not "straight talk".
20. Palin and McCain would appoint Supreme Court justices (and there might be two or three new justices required in the next four years) that would overturn Roe V. Wade.
22. McCain claims he can fix the economy that he claims is fundamentally strong. A "straight-talker" that can't THINK STRAIGHT. AGE? JUDGEMENT?
23. When Americans say, "Sarah Palin is not ready for the job." ... they are putting COUNTRY FIRST.
24. When we say "John McCain is poorly suited for the presidency." ... that is putting COUNTRY FIRST.
25. For the CHANGE WE NEED instead of the CHANGE WE DON'T ... vote Barack Obama-Joe Biden.
26. McCain opposed the AIG bailout on Tuesday (September 16th) and then switched to favor it on Wednesday (September 17th). Opportunism? AGE? JUDGEMENT?
27. James Moore said "TROOPERGATE [meaning stonewalling by resisting the subpoenas for testimony that were agreed to by a bi-partisan committee] is the most illustrative of how [Sarah Palin] would govern."
28. "In what respect, Charlie?" ... remember that? Does "Bush Doctrine" jar your memory? Defending Gov. Sarah Palin's experience in an interview with MSNBC today [September 16th], House Minority Whip Roy Blunt (R-MO) made the false claim that Alaska supplies 20 percent of the U.S. oil: "She does understand energy, not only as governor, but as someone who was on the commission that regulated that big industry in Alaska. Twenty percent of all our oil comes from Alaska." [ WRONG! 14.3% of our country's oil comes from Alaska]. Furthermore, Gov. Sarah Palin recently said Alaska produces 20 percent of the U.S. "energy," when it actually produces 3.5 percent. Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) has used the same talking point. The Washington Post FactChecker gives the claim four Pinocchio's [in other words, it's a HEAP BIG LIE.]
29. McCain picked Sarah Palin only because of gender, her relative youth, her attractive looks and her radical conservative religious view to please and energize the fundamentalist Right wing of the Republican party; obviously his staff persuaded him his chances to defeat Obama would be slim and none if he could not excite the "base" of the party [and that "base" agrees with McCain's association with John Hagee whose statement: "All hurricanes are acts of God, because God controls the heavens. I believe that New Orleans had a level of sin that was offensive to God, and they are - were recipients of the judgment of God for that." among others demonstrates Hagee's and McCain's LACK OF JUDGEMENT (at minimum) and his SELL-OUT willingness (at maximum) which certainly damages his brand as someone who can "do what is right" in opposition to his party's predilections.. According to a poll [announced on MSNBC on Thursday, September 18th] Palin's selection by McCain as his choice for Vice President, 73% believes it was primarily for political reasons while only 17% believe it was based on her experience. A corollary to that result is that the reverse numbers are expressed for Joe Biden ... Obama's selection was based on Biden's experience and readiness for the job and not for political strategy. In a NYT/NBC poll [September 18th] 65% believe Biden is qualified to be Vice President, only 33% believe Palin is qualified. JUDGEMENT? Putting "COUNTRY FIRST"???
30. Bush's credibility rating (according to Chris Matthews on September 18th) is down around 17%. Could it be that that 17% is the same 17% who thinks McCain's choice of Sarah Palin was for her experience? I'm beginning to believe you can persuade 17% of the Republican party of anything "Republican". McCain's credibility rating is NOT going up.
McCain, despite his empty claims for departure from Bush's policies (as well as the REPUBLICAN BRAND) is not helping that rating. Believe what he's done, not what he promises.
