JW: When I visited last weekend, ahead of me in line was a woman wearing a beautiful t-shirt, crimson with a white "A" and "Alabama" on it.  ROLL TIDE!  When she was handed her form upon entry, Blunt (and later Broadway) told her she would not be allowed to visit wearing it, stating "athletic attire" is prohibited.  She was forced to turn her Alabama shirt inside out in order to visit!  So sad.

JB: Isn't that rather hypocritical on the part of the prison staff?

JW: Yes, it is.  Hypocritical and discriminating!  Aside from  the Razorback baseball cap and prison employees' wearing of other Arkansas attire on prior occasions, this Sunday,  I personally saw two visitors in the visiting room wearing t-shirts with "So. Cal" [USC] on them, one visitor wearing a t-shirt with the number 74 on it, one visitor wearing a t-shirt with the number 8 on it, one visitor wearing a t-shirt with the number 3 on it, several t-shirts that appeared to be for high schools or teams, and dozens of visitors wearing t-shirts.  I was shocked and felt so discriminated against!

If a t-shirt is deemed to be "athletic attire" and "athletic attire" is prohibited, ALL t-shirts would be unacceptable.  If only "Alabama" t-shirts (or perhaps all t-shirts supportive of teams superior to the Arkansas Razorbacks, who have been repeatedly and thoroughly beaten to a pulp by the Alabama Crimson Tide in recent years) are banned, however, that is discrimination.  Sunday, other shirts and t-shirts were accepted and allowed, with only the Alabama t-shirt rejected, which is a civil rights violation.  (Expressing team spirit on a t-shirt is protected as Freedom of Speech - even in Arkansas Razorbacks country.)  Being a bit of an Alabama FANatic, it was more than I could stand!

JB: So, what did you do about it?

JW: Before sending in the internal affairs complaint, I went online and re-read the visiting rules on the prison's website, intending to cite the precise language of what is prohibited, as someone had said they believed it to be "sports" and someone else saying the BOPers had said "athletic" attire.  But guess what?  It is NEITHER!  There is no prohibition against wearing either athletic or sports attire.  None whatsoever.

JB: Nothing?

JW: Only "sweat suits" are actually prohibited.  This is yet another instance of BOPers just making up rules as they go along and applying them as they choose, discriminating and committing civil rights violations at will with no accountability and no oversight. Regardless, there is no room for discriminating against winners.

JB: Rub it in, Judy, rub it in. Boy, you football fans are fierce! What else do you have to report?

JW: Not only do the BOPers dislike Alabama, they don't seem to like children!  At least, they don't like children visiting their daddy-prisoners!
