To fully understand Hinson's point in order to gain more clues as to who the founder of Librarians Against Palin may be, we need to look at what the LAP founder had to accomplish in order to become a librarian in the first place. Various sources on the Internet list what librarians must learn to earn this degree and I will post a just few of the requirements I have found for us to study for clues. According to the general curriculum, the must acquire the capabilities to:
"Prepare and apply policies and procedures that support the selection and acquisition of information resources which will meet the information needs of an organization, institution, or community."
"Understand and effectively apply principles of representation and systems of organization to provide access to resources in a variety of library and information environments."
"Understand a wide range of organizational structures and management and leadership styles; demonstrate positive attitudes and constructive actions which characterize innovative leadership."
"Recognize the value of collaborative planning and project management. Apply the interpersonal and organizational skills necessary to manage and evaluate projects and personnel successfully."
"Communicate an organization's values and contributions, and identify sources that will support the organization's activities".
"Understand and apply research and evaluation methods to investigate questions related to the acquisition, representation, organization, use and/or dissemination of information."
"Comprehend the social, political, and legal aspects of information creation, access, and ownership."
"Apply Management and Leadership Skills."
Vice-presidential candidate Sara Palin's Bachelor of Science degree requires a total of 12 credits of electives such as Public Relations, Advertising, Journalism, Broadcasting, Film, Corporate Communication, and Communication Studies.
Understanding just a bit of what is involved in the 36 to 72 credit hours the founder of Librarians Against Palin had to master in order to obtain their degree already lets us know the founder of LAP is much more educated than John McCain's vice-presidential pick Sarah Palin. Highly educated, in fact.
We do not know if the founder of LAP is a library director or involved in any specialized field. To become a director of a library, such as Mary Ellen Emmons (now Baker), who was steadfast her own opposition to Palin over the banning of books in the Wasilla Public Library, I think we can safely assume experience and possibly even a goodly number of those 72 possible credit hours for this person if the founder is, in fact, a Library Director.
So, from the information gathered so far, we can add several other items to our list of clues:
Sarah Palin should not take Librarians Against Palin, the founder, Mrs. Baker, or librarians in general for that matter, lightly.
Commonsense alone tells us to delete the term 'book stacker' and replace that with the clue 'formidable opponent' on our list about on the founder and LAP as the term most likely pertains to librarians.
My research on the Internet also tells us this person may be involved in more weapons than Governor Palin herself:
