· Appeal to people in Trump's base, or at least not alienate them
 · Transcend Trump to achieve a deep victory and mandate
We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.
Albert Einstein
Consider a vision that among the candidates, are self-selected souls choosing to rise up to rescue us at this critical time in our history. Many feel called to help us emerge from this chaos, improve our lives, our society, our international relations and our democracy. Beyond needing one good candidate, we need a team of those willing to opt in to the new paradigm, to bring out the best in everyone to maximize and magnify their individual and collectively synergized gifts.
"The whole is greater than the sum of its parts." Principle of Gestalt psychology
Trumpism has created an extreme, negative, polarizing force field, like a global infection, "The likes of which the world has never seen." We need something more powerful than one person to extricate us. Finding the best candidate to defeat Trump is not good enough. It misses the opportunity to transform and heal our country.
Negativity dominance [2] is a valuable concept that informs our strategy. Negatives are far more powerful than positives. Negative talk and actions grow farther, faster, are evaluated more negatively, engage wider, more complex responses and do infinitely more harm compared to positives. One mistake can ruin one's lifelong stellar reputation. It takes longer to refute a false claim than to accept a true one. It is easier to destroy than to rebuild. It is easier to start a war than to end it. Cycles of violence and retaliation have a propensity to escalate, while de-escalation is far more challenging.
"A lie gets half way around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on."
Old adage
Therefore, a negative force cannot be overcome by an equal and opposite positive force. To counter negative contagion our response must be orders of magnitude more clever, creative, effective, numerous.
For our country to heal, more than defeating Trump, we need to transcend Trump. Rather than a shallow numerical victory, we need to reach deeper, wider, and higher. We need communication that is appealing, compelling, and self-evident. This includes dignity and policy proposals for many in Trump's base, especially poorly educated, low information voters who were deeply insulted by Hillary and neglected by most Democrats who come off as elitist.
A dynamic team can evolve with the country to reach our highest potential. Psychologically informed strategies can break the spell of mystification and psychological manipulation. Modeling relationship, language and mature behavior can elevate public discourse. We can vibrate at a higher frequency to reach those who were neglected and those who didn't vote.
There are three potential outcomes for the 2020 election.
