The full Moon occurs on Monday June 4th at 4:12am PDT/ 7:12am EDT/ 11:12am GMT. It comes a day and a half before Venus transits the Sun. So be prepared for powerful energies this week.
Venus is the star player in this week's lunar eclipse. While the Sun is in Mercury-ruled Gemini and the Moon is in Jupiter-ruled Sagittarius, Venus bestows her favors on both sides of the celestial scale. Venus is conjunct both Mercury and the Gemini Sun, softening its harsh glare with her golden laughter and sensual arts. Jupiter, the ruler of the Sagittarius Moon, is finishing his stay in Venus-ruled Taurus, so he is beholding to her for her hospitality.
It seems to me that Venus is calling
the shots, which means keep your hearts open and follow Her lead. Venus might just say to Jupiter, "Before you leave my domain (on June 11), when
are you going to respect my wisdom and allow Me my proper power in life?" Venus
might say to the Sun, "Allow me the
respect to make my own decisions about my body and my life!"
Both Mercury and Venus trine Saturn in Libra, another Venus-ruled sign, opening up lines of communication about partnering and justice. With the eclipse occurring in a fire/air pairing, our Minds will be attuned to higher justice and truth. Venus can help you get across your ideas in a pleasing manner. Why start trouble when you can smooth things over with a collaborative approach?
Both this full Moon eclipse and Venus square Mars in Virgo and Chiron in Pisces, forming a mutable grand cross. It's once again all about the Mind and how we use it. Mars in Virgo can come up with blueprints to heal the world's suffering (Chiron in Pisces), if we open our minds and hearts to a loving standpoint. The truth is, we can fix our world's problems if we let go of the old patriarchal paradigm (yeah! the first Pluto/Uranus square is on June 24th) and look at our problems through Venus' lens of Love, Wisdom and Cooperation.
The Sabian symbol for the Sun at 15*Gemini is: Two Dutch children talking to each other, exchanging their knowledge. We need to be able to discuss our new-found perceptions and experiences with each other, in an open and child-like way. We can see our lives in a new way, understand life from different perspectives, and feel free to follow wherever our imaginations take us.
The Sabian symbol for the Moon at 15* Sagittarius is: The ground hog looking for its shadow on Ground Hog's Day, February 2nd. February 2nd is one of the gateways of the Wheel of the Year, called Imbolc or Candlemas, when the ground hog or snake comes out of the ground to see if the Sun's light is growing. It is a time to look to the future and anticipate future prospects. But as in the wonderful movie, Ground Hog's Day, it will take a lot of work to release our old habits and ways of seeing the world and get on with the business of creating a good life. Coupled with the Sun's symbol, this full Moon energizes new ways of knowing and perceiving.
The Sabian symbol for Venus at 17*Gemini is: The head of a robust youth changes to that of a mature thinker. This symbol speaks to the change in our mental attitude once we understand the heart's messages and translate them into intelligent action.
When Venus and Mars square each other, the friction between love and desire brings about positive action if we stay awake and aware. The Sabian symbol for Mars at 17*Virgo is: A volcanic eruption! The image speaks for itself. All that repressed passion wants to manifest something new. Venus can help Mars use that explosive energy for life in constructive ways.
