Mr.
President, you've failed in your class in politics in America. You bought the
scam, hook line and sinker. The net effect of the three decades of attempts to
shift the center of gravity has been class warfare by the right to shift wealth
and power away from the consumer into the hands of owners and management.
That's all it is and today's riotous debate is nothing more than a more militant
extension of that debate. They now have bullied you into repeated submission
and cowering. Now you feel you must play cat and mouse, not with the
Republicans who have shown no interest in solving the problems of the consumer -
but with the consumer themselves.
The nation is only a center-right
America in the media and in the greed of politics. It is the job holder that
provides the tax base, and was also the power base of your election and the
mandate of the country. And this is also the base of dissatisfaction that has
collapsed your polls.
This is the CENTER OF GRAVITY of America. Your
rhetoric in the campaign was correctly focused, but your actions as President
have been misplaced; leaving the center of gravity to wonder if they have been
used and hoodwinked, or if you, as President have been co-opted. Simply said,
they expect you to again lie to us on Wednesday and will only watch your speech
for a few seconds to confirm their gut instinct that you don't have the guts to
force a single consumer action that is the cornerstone of healthcare reform - a
public option with regulations that are actually enforced rather than self
regulated. They want to know whether this is just another smooth talking speech
without backbone, or the first time that a spine has been shown. But they
really don't expect a spine. They expect you to double talk and try to APPEASE
us while giving away our tax dollars to the insurance and healthcare providers.
They can't believe it, but that's what they expect.
Mr. President, the
fear of the right has transformed and scared you. It has shifted your focus and
position away from the mandate. It has shifted your loyalty as well. The
outcomes of your policy first favored the owners of AIG and commercial banking
and not the consumers, customers or taxpayers. The outcome were tax funded
gifts without oversight or regulation on these agents of greed who delivered us
to the brink of a depression.
Your policy to the little guy has
universally been set aside for the action of those that seem to get invited to
your meetings. I'm not so senile that I can't remember your campaign rhetorical
flourishes that claimed absolutely this wouldn't happen. Did you lie to
us?
Have you forsaken not only the mandate, but also the Center of
Gravity of America?
You have forsaken those that have fought for the
principles and concepts of the center of gravity. The latest action to throw
your green jobs advisor under the bus only fermented that you won't stand up to
the rants and radical claims of the far right, or even the business interests of
this country.
Does that mean that you feel that the center of gravity of
America is business? When I look at those that have been invited to the White
House, the list is heavily weighted to where you view the nation's center of
gravity.
So did you lie to me and to America in order to get
there?
