The next major question that I would pose is, if our gun culture is defending freedom, then why are they not in Somalia helping to protect the innocents there? At least in Spanish Revolution, American gun culture people enlisted in the Abraham Lincoln Brigade and went to Spain to fight against fascism. We don’t see many gun culture people fighting against the insurgency in Iraq. And no gun culture person ever volunteered to go to Germany to take out Adolph Hitler. It is far too easy to sit and talk about what you think you want to do rather than taking the risks involved.
With Virginia Tech and NIU, why did the students carrying guns not intervene? Instead, they went running for cover. We know with certainty there were armed students who did nothing. Shallow bravado.
I suppose the next logical question might be why are gun culture people who tend to follow along NeoCon mentality so eager to visit a site that is liberal in its undertakings. Or are they trolling for a written fight – are they so inclined towards the sequestering of the First Amendment and the rights of others? Let their actions speak for them.
Gun control is not an emotional issue; the leading cause of death for a young black man is the bullet. Grief is an emotional issue.
Over 300,000 people are either killed or permanently disabled because of the gun each year in the United States. Minneapolis was once dubbed Murderapolis for a reason – a simple change to how murders are classified and reported gave the false sense of a falling crime rate. More guns in the black community has not caused crime to drop – that is a statistic.
While we’re mentioning Minneapolis, about two years ago, a young man was casing another man. The latter was firing his weapon and shot and killed an innocent bystander. Not a single gun carrying ‘militia’ member stepped in to intervene. The words flow, but the actions wholly fall completely short.
In the Supreme Court decision in the United States v. Miller, 1939, the Supreme Court ruled the militia 'A body of citizens enrolled for military discipline', and it is interesting to note that our ‘militia’ does not fall into the category.
Tyranny can take other forms also – take for example of the expiration of the assault weapons ban. 89% appealed that the law be extended. 11% demanded the law be expired – the minority ruled the day. Tyranny is best defined as the absolute rule of the majority by the minority.
