[Introduction by Stephen Fox: If each state had a Nutrition and Consumer Protection Council comprised of volunteer physicians, oncologists, educators, pediatricians, and consumer protection lawyers , these councils could blast this sort of warning (and many others, as they materialize) all over EVERY state, if governors in all 50 states would prioritize creating such an entity. What could be more compelling than protecting the health of our citizens, especially the young, the naive (who still believe the FDA is there to protect you), the at-risk with afflictions like diabetes, and the elderly, especially in an era wherein the FDA rubber stamps almost whatever the food additive industries wish to pump into every good product in America.
Anything less is inertia and a dereliction of duty, which is IN FACT on going at all 50 of the Departments of Health, well as the FDA. The FDA department of food safety has been corrupted since 1981 when Donald Rumsfeld forced the approval of aspartame to go through the FDA in one of the crookedest deals in the checkered history of that belabored agency!
In each state, this could be done by Executive Order and thus would not be burdened by the destructive effects of all of the infernal lobbyists from the soft-drink associations, the grocery associations, the restaurant associations, and, of course, the most guilty of all: THE ASPARTAME MANUFACTURERS!
If the discussion shifts to Roundup, the evidence and the jurisprudential decisions have been much clearer, with unanimous federal juries in California for example ruling that Roundup/glyphosate made by Monsanto/Bayer have caused lymphomas, and have rendered verdicts of between $100 million and $2 billion. Hence, the stock price has dropped so far that Bayer is now worth less on the stock market in aggregate value than the $65 billion they paid to acquire Monsanto, a corporate decision that continues to completely baffle me...
Yet has one health department of any state warned one school system to avoid at all costs any prepared foods that contain Roundup? Has one school system in the USA taken on the expense of testing what it feeds the children for the presence of this carcinogen glyphosate?]

Approximately 20% of the US population aged 2 years and older consume diet drinks on any given day, according to data from the CDC. And while diet drinks may seem like healthier alternatives to sugar-laden sodas and juices, researchers have shown that this may not be the case. Despite previous positive safety studies, emerging research on the long-term health effects of certain artificial sweeteners, such as aspartame, have elicited particular concern among health experts, given their pervasiveness in diet drinks.
