When I published 10 Steps to Personal Transformation last week, I did a quick search for any earlier iteration -- and was quite surprised when a plagiarized version turned up.
I reached out to the digital magazine that had run the piece, as well as to the woman who submitted it under her byline. It's not the first time something like this has happened: a new-thought church leader once appended my Home page content to her YouTube video as "Anonymous," calling it an intern's mistake. Another time I discovered someone using my words to promote his artwork.
"I thought I was you"
But this is the first time a plagiarizer has apologized. Initially, I thought her extreme remorse was meant as sarcasm. She emailed, in part, "My deepest and sincerest apologies for my egregious act of plagiarism.
