>In every group there is a small, often secretive, deceptive, violent minority. Because these individuals and subgroups are part of the tribe they are often overlooked or instinctually protected and nourished by the dark elements within each member of the general population of the tribe. We have good cops protecting bad cops. We have good Muslims and Jews protecting or in denial over bad Muslims and Jews, and good blacks or good whites protecting and making excuses for bad blacks and bad whites. The instinctual defensive motivators within the tribe often override slowly evolving tribal intelligence and good sense.
When inherent tribal awareness and intelligence fails, one tribe attacks the other tribe carte blanch for the sins of a small, violent, often deceptive minority and the result is mass suffering and violence throughout the tribe. This tendency to unconsciously, instinctually support or downplay destructive elements within the tribe by tribal members causes endless suffering for all tribal members. Often the whole tribe gets scapegoated for the sins of the few.
One of the benefits of people like Donald Trump is that they personify the instinctual reactions and motivations of the tribe directed in mass against other tribes. Today people like Trump are putting the spotlight on the whole Muslim tribe which is under mass attack from within and without because they have up until now been in denial and even protecting their very destructive violent minorities. It's the same with other tribes like the Jews that, because of their history of being exterminated, have become so defensive that, as a group, they are in denial of their destructive minorities and the havoc it is wreaking on other tribes.
Peace activist Jimmy Carter, of all people, pointed out that what was happening in Palestine to the Arabs was a war crime, even genocide against Arabs, and for that, was called and rejected by many Jews as anti-Semitic. In Palestine the general Arab population looks the other way and otherwise protects the violent elements within their own tribe that attack the Jews. All parties insanely blame each other for the violence and brutality between tribes.
I have a very diverse group of Facebook friends and even more followers and my news feed reflects this fact. My Facebook news feed allows me to keep a finger on the pulse of national and international affairs. I have accepted all friendships and I don't delete friendships or followers or block any news feed posts. That is, except for folks moving onto my wall or groups to disrupt them. I see, but do not watch beheading videos, genital mutilation of women or other posts of violence and extreme prejudice between races, religions and nations. I avoid watching links of extreme racism and religious intolerance all being posted to my news feed along with posts from the more enlightened elements of society.
On occasion I look further into an extreme posted link than I had intended because of some other interest. A recent example was a link to a 1943 French film produced under Nazi occupation that featured the Illuminati. I stopped when I saw Jewish leaders being portrayed as braying donkeys. I am still glad I was made aware of such material that I had only have heard of before about the Nazis. It just shows to what violent extremes a tribe will go if the destructive minority is able to gain control over a society.
I find myself just shaking my head at the extremes of foolishness within the human condition even while I admire the struggles of those like the Dali Lama who pursue enlightenment, love and compassion against such a tide of violence, brutality, despair and suffering. I find peace of mind within myself even when surrounded by such conflict by maintaining my inner balance and strong center moving back and forth through human culture and the natural world. I limit my time on the internet as well as human social contact in order to maintain the proper balance between myself, others and nature.
In this way I transcend limited perspectives and view all in its proper relationship to the whole. I have developed tolerance for hard learners, even while protecting myself from them and their lessons. They must be allowed hard lessons until such time as they are willing to evolve further. Unfortunately more suffering to themselves, others and nature is necessary to drive the evolution of hard learners forward.
