The Obama Administration sent a message to every voter in the United States this week which clearly states that it's useless to go to the polls and that our votes are meaningless especially those of California voters, one of our nation's largest Democratic States. It appears that America is dealing with another "Imperialistic Presidency" that each and every day is closely resembling that of the Bush Administration; Obama is neither Progressive nor Liberal and for all practical purposes has demonstrated quite clearly that other than meaningless rhetoric, he supports the agenda of Corporate America and their associated "Elites" and could care less about the average American citizen.
There are two White House decisions this week that are awakening the public that the only "change we can believe in" (Sic) is that our personal rights to liberty and freedom are still being trampled upon and Social Security recipients should begin demonstrating en masse and clog America's streets and cities in protests and civil disobedience.
The first decision that is rocking the Democrat/Progressive/Liberal base he once held was our (In)Justice Department's decision to announce that no matter how Californian's vote in the upcoming election, if they vote to legalize marijuana for recreational use, the government will ignore the will of the people and prosecute those who dare to believe that State Rights or State Sovereignty mean anything to those in Washington whom believe that the people's votes count for less than the cost of the paper that their ballots were once cast upon.
Even though I believe marijuana should be legalized, that is only a small segment of the mounting anger and indignation that is driving me to write this article and from the comments that were posted on RAW Story when they broke this story, I am far from alone. Excerpts and comments, some edited for vulgarity, including my own, appear below:
Holder: US will enforce marijuana laws despite how Californians may voteBy Ron Brynaert
Friday, October 15th, 2010 -- 11:02 amLess than three weeks before California voters hit the polls, the Justice Department issued a preemptive message concerning a ballot measure making worldwide headlines.
"Attorney General Eric Holder says the federal government will enforce its marijuana laws in California even if the state's voters approve a ballot measure to legalize the drug," Pete Yost reports for the Associated Press.
He made the comments in a letter to former chiefs of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. The Associated Press obtained a copy of the letter, dated Wednesday.
"We will vigorously enforce the CSA against those individuals and organizations that possess, manufacture or distribute marijuana for recreational use, even if such activities are permitted under state law," Holder wrote.
He also said that legalizing recreational marijuana in California would be a "significant impediment" to the government's joint efforts with state and local law enforcement to target drug traffickers, who often distribute marijuana alongside cocaine and other drugs. Holder said approval of the ballot measure would "significantly undermine" efforts to keep California communities safe. MUCH MORE
First and foremost, the Obama Administration, based on the timing of this announcement are royally screwing the Democrats in California. There are thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of voters that would have come to the polls to vote for the legalization of marijuana. The Federal Government has announced that their votes will not make an iota of difference, and many of those voters are so disgusted that it's extremely likely they will not bother to vote at all. Californian's and the nation as a whole can thank the Obama Administration for any seats that are lost in California to the GOP. Making such an announcement this close to an election was political suicide for Democrats in California as the bulk of those prospective voters would have also voted for a straight Democratic ticket and the GOP is partying right now at Obama's political stupidity. In essence, the Federal Government is helping to throw the California elections in order to pursue their authoritarian agenda and guarantee that ballot measures such as this one are not brought back up in California, or even more importantly, in other states as well.
Ask yourselves why the Obama Administration would make a political blunder such as this prior to a major election. If you connect the dots it's easy to see:
"Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca and District Attorney Steve Cooley along with former DEA officials are scheduled to announce Holder's position at a press conference outside of Sheriff's headquarters Friday morning."
We know three things:
* Holder called off the DEA last year from targeting
medical marijuana operations in the 13 states permitting medicinal use
of pot.
* A Justice Department spokeswoman recently said, "It is premature to
speculate what steps we would take in the event that California passes
its ballot measure."
* Nine former DEA heads wrote a letter to Holder in August, asking him
to sue California and prevent Prop 19 from going into effect if it is
passed. LINK
