Authors Dr. Robert R. Hieronimus, Ph.D., and Laura E. Cortner are here to take you on a trip in the Beatles' Yellow Submarine and a cosmically painted VW microbus on a flashback to the psychedelic sixties.
Cortner and Hieronimus are the authors of Inside the Yellow Submarine: The Making of the Beatles' Animated Classic (Krause 2002) and the companion volume It's All In The Mind: Inside The Beatles' Yellow Submarine, vol. 2 (Independently published in 2021). Dr. Robert R. Hieronimus, Ph.D.

In 1968, the year the Yellow Submarine movie was released, Hieronimus was commissioned to paint a 1963 Volkswagen bus, dubbed "LIGHT," which went to Woodstock the following year. It was resurrected to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Woodstock in 2019.
The Woodstock Bus is currently on exhibit at the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, with a special open house on May 21. (PSA: At the time of publication, weed was not yet legal in Ohio!)
