The Future Was Just Ahead

by John Kendall Hawkins

.

When we all get homogenized and pastorized,

sheepish grins in on a secret, wolf at the door,

hive-minded democracy all categorized,

and then fall through holes that open up in the floor

when we say the ugly things we must never say

about power and mind control and the shaping

of thoughts to come, enforced by thugs of the New Way,

immune to reason and fond of backdoor raping;

then we will have realized we're Monsanto people,

GMO schmucks the false gods play with, their joysticks

dewy with decimal bliss, all rush and ripple,

ecstatic dervish ÃÅ"bermenschen without pricks.

The new Dark Age is here; savages are spreading

cancerous dandelion seeds the harsh winds bring.
