The power formula of modern democracies

Politics for the people or people for politics? The answer to this question divided humanity into two parts. These parts of humanity are not equal.

Two worlds of humanity

A good policy is a safe and comfortable policy. This motto is valid for the population of the richest and most technologically advanced countries in the world.

Anything that requires a lot of effort cannot be a political goal for such countries. Not only numerous casualties, but even a serious and lasting deterioration in living conditions are now unacceptable for achieving political goals.

Politics is for the people, not the people for politics. This new philosophy separates the citizens of cool countries from the majority of the world's population. The rest of humanity is ready, as before, to achieve anything without sparing themselves. Most of the earth is a territory where people exist for politics.

Daily life of the new world order

Ukraine is an ally of democratic countries. However, these countries did not send their own armies to help Ukraine. Military support to Ukraine is provided only to the extent that does not threaten the security of these states. Even a long-term deterioration in life due to support for Ukraine causes displeasure among the population of democratic countries. However, this is not how states fight, at least outside the democratic world!

Ukraine loses about 30 thousand people killed and wounded every month. (1) However, the attitude of Ukraine's allies to this tragedy does not seem to be a true desire to help. Democracies agree to assert their ideals, but without dying, without taking great risks and without creating inconvenience for themselves.

In these countries, human capital has become the most important value! And this was achieved through political skill, technological superiority and financial capital. Democracies have learned to influence the world without oppressing their own human resources. But for this, democracies had to abandon moral dogmas and replace it with self-interest!

An excellent example of modern democratic thinking is the situation with the storming on January 6, 2021, the United States Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. (2) US officials condemned this action and prosecuted those involved. However, in other countries the United States supported similar actions. This shows that one and the same event can be thought about differently depending on the political benefits! It is this ideology that has allowed Western democracies to achieve a dominant position.

But there is another world. A world where political, technological and financial opportunities are not as great as in cool democracies. In this world, people's opportunities are so small that people are ready to take their own lives to achieve what they want. An example of this world is Ukraine, Palestine, Yemen and even Afghanistan! These countries have nothing in common except for one exception. In these states, political goals are above all! This means that political beliefs are sacred. That is, it is impossible to think differently about the same event!

Large population losses, economic and social problems are not an obstacle to achieving political goals. Even the possible destruction of the state does not stop participation in this struggle!

In a world outside of democracies, people exist for politics, not politics for people! It is hard to imagine that half a million Finns would decide to die for their country to join NATO. In this case, NATO would be considered a threat to Finland and not a defense. Finland's accession to NATO was only possible due to the absence of serious obstacles.

However, the Ukrainians did the opposite. Wanting to receive NATO protection, half a million Ukrainians died, (1) and Ukraine itself was destroyed. The desire to join NATO did not protect, but destroyed Ukraine. But even after this, formal entry into NATO did not happen. This happened because the skills of the political elites of Ukraine are worse than the skills of the political elites of Western democracies. But the Ukrainian people were unable to replace moral norms with self-interest. In the world of Ukrainians, dying for an idea is normal. But in the world of cool democracies, mass death for an idea is prohibited. Ukrainians decided that NATO is so wonderful that it is worth dying for. All the democratic countries that make up NATO did not do this! And these countries will never do this!

Ukrainians paid a huge price to become part of the Western world. But the Western world would not pay so dearly for itself! This is not envisaged by the new ideology of Western democracies. The lack of understanding by Ukrainians of the meaning of democracy was the cause of the Ukrainian tragedy. Incredible!
