Ed Failor of Iowans for Taxpayer Relief probably has a splitting
migraine this morning. In a well-publicized shunning of America's
premier tax hero here--Congressman and Presidential candidate, Ron Paul
of Texas--Failor destroyed the legitimacy of his own organization and
heaped incredible shame upon the Republican apparatus in Iowa when he
refused admittance at the candidate's forum in Des Moines this past
weekend.
In an interview prior to the event on WHO radio, Failor defended his
decision to exclude Paul on two flimsy pretexts. The first was
that they decided months ago that certain candidates were "credible"
and that others weren't and would not be invited. This is a proven
falsehood in that several of the candidates who were invited had not
even announced their candidacies yet, while Dr. Paul already had his
exploratory committee up and running.
Next, Failor--who is a contributor and advisor to the McCain campaign--
tried to claim that they only had so much room available, and this is
why Paul was excluded, even though every democrat they invited declined
and even McCain snubbed the invitation (leaving plenty of room for Dr. Paul) .
The Ron Paul campaign subsequently decided that they had had enough of
this type of blatant anti-democratic activity, and staged their own
"Life & Freedom" Rally on Saturday night IN THE SAME building. The
number of people that showed up for Failor's event was dwarfed by the
raucous crowd of 1000 that showed up.
Despite the overwhelming success of the Paul event, the lamestream
media reported inaccurately that Dr. Paul "had almost as many people
there as did the Failor event", or "had around 500 people or so there."
What they failed to realize is that Paul supporters took plenty of
video footage of BOTH rooms and that they have the evidence to display
to the world that they are being "yellow caked" again. (We went to war
in Iraq supposedly because Sadaam was getting nuclear materials such as
"yellow cake" from abroad.
Only OpEd News has had the guts to tell you what really happened this
past Saturday. It was the second "shot heard 'round the world", even
if the major media was too deaf to hear it.
