Rob: Welcome to the Rob Kall Bottom Up radio show WNJC 1360 AM at Washington towns reaching Metro Philly & South Jersey sponsored by OpEdNews.com. My guest tonight is Dr. Mari Swingle. She is a Neurotherapist who practices at the Swingle Clinic in Vancouver British Columbia and she's the author of a new book , i-Minds: How Cell Phones, Computers, Gaming, and Social Media Are Changing Our Brains, Our Behavior, and the Evolution of Our Species. Welcome to the show.
M.S.: Pleasure to be here.
Rob: So this is a really fun interview to do because we've known each other for a long time. You were a participant in the winter brain conference that I ran for 15 years, not all of it but a good number of those years. And so it's really fun to see that you put out a book that is really important and interesting.
M.S.: Ya, I think I presented one of my first research papers at one of your conferences a long time ago.
Rob: Yes, so this book basically explores in a lot of detail how the brain is affected and influenced by what you call iTechnology.
M.S.: Which is essentially any screen-based device-- so it would be telephones due to texting, standard computers, gaming consoles etc.
