He is being prosecuted for helping families obtain raw milk. It is legal to consume raw milk in Canada, but illegal to sell it. Critical to the success of sustainable agriculture is the battle for legalization of raw milk. Central to the life of a small farm is the contented, grass chewing dairy cow. Cows provide food for the farm family, skim milk to fatten the pigs, and plenty of manure for fertilizing produce fields and for the chickens to poke around in to find bugs and worms, the natural source of protein in their diet. Farmers need to be free!
