Rainbow Law is Elisia and Carrie Ross-Stone, lesbian civil rights activists, life partners and grandmothers. We own and operate Rainbow Law, an online service offering legal information and free and affordable legal documents for gay and lesbian families.
We also publish RainbowZine (http://www.rainbowzine.com), a progressive LGBTQ newsletter and we Blog at http://RAINBOWbLAWg/.blogspot.com.
In 2003 and 2004, we rode our bicycles across the country to advocate for marriage equality. Lesbian Grandmothers from Mars, a documentary about the ride, premiered at the Gay and Lesbian Film Festival in San Francisco in 2005.
And if all of that is not enoiugh to keep us busy, we are building our own house with our own hands out of recycled materials. The building project is online at http://www.BuiltfromTrash.com.

Is it paranoid or prophetic to imagine The McBush's would not only take advantage of a "civilian uprising" to thwart a Democratic win in November, but even more, would actually take steps to encourage one?

Ever since Ronald Regan began to dismantle our social safety nets, we've been wondering when Americans would finally rise up against injustice. Now that the economy is spiraling downward, we are in an illegal war, are suffering record job losses and foreclosures, in a health care and education crisis, and have criminals at the highest levels of government, finally, we're 'talkin about a revolution!'

Until the Republican water carriers (like Limbaugh and Hannity) let up, we encourage all progressives to respond to negative reports about Reverend Jeremiah Wright with stories about the wacky, right-wing supporter and close friend of the Bush family, Reverend Moon who once called America "Satan's Harvest."

While we are on the subject of crazy ministers, we hope the mainstream media will use this opportunity to expose the close connection between the wacky and powerful Reverend Moon and the Republican Party -- especially the Bush family.

House Democrats are about to cave in to Bush's demands on immunizing the telecommunications industry again. And we have no one to blame but ourselves. If progressive voters continue to re-elect Democrats who abuse the trust we place in them, perhaps we all need to be checked by a psychiatrist to see whether we are suffering from a bad case of Stockholm Syndrome.

Yesterday, House Democrats stood up to Bush and the Republicans despite the usual fear-mongering. What finally gave Nancy Pelosi the courage of her convictions? Perhaps the Dems are feeling empowered -- in part -- by the resounding echoes of change in the air.

As feminists, we do not take our civic duty to choose a President lightly. A candidate's gender is but one factor we consider. More important than gender is whether or not a candidate shares our feminist world view. Does he or she work for peace? Do they place the rights of people over profits and power? And just because a Condi Rice is a woman, we wouldn't vote for her -- even if she were only running for dog catcher.

Washington politicians are not insulated from reality because they are in a "bubble." The bubble theory is a myth. Elected officials are shrewd, calculating and ambitious people who got where they are because they know how to play the GAME.

A "what good will it do" attitude in response to progressive calls to action permeates the blogosphere. The forgone conclusion that nothing we do will make a difference has become a self-fufilling prophecy.

Yesterday we reported on rumors that Nancy Pelosi would consider initiating impeachment proceedings if 10,000 people sent hand-written pleas to her office. Sadly, the story was actually an "Internet fabrication."

Although ENDA passed in the house yesterday, the LGBT Community must continue the struggle on many fronts before we win anti-discrimination protections in the workplace. Until the Senate passes their version and the bill is signed by the President, most of us remain vulnerable to losing our jobs simply for loving someone.

Keeping secrets from his wife and his constituents is a selfish act and although Craig appears full of righteous indignation -- even bravado -- his refusal to do the right thing and leave his marriage and the Senate is the act of a coward.

The Constitution and every one of our original civil and criminal laws, were written by and for the benefit and protection of White, wealthy Christian, heterosexual, able-bodied men.
Why, then, do these folks cry foul every time minority groups legally petition the Government for an opportunity to share in those rights and benefits?

Yesterday, the Senate voted 60-39 to amend the Pentagon spending bill with the Matthew Shepard Act, which would add sexual orientation to an existing hate crimes law. Even though the bill authorizes funding for his immoral war, Bush has threatened a veto. And, in the saddest of ironies, Larry Craig, the self-hating, on the down-low, closeted gay Republican Senator from Idaho, voted against the Act.

According to Ahmadinejad, there are no gays in Iran - a country ruled by Islamic law. For this reason, LGBTQ Americans should fear the reemergence of a Christian Nation. According to the Bible (and Koran), gay people are abhorrent to God and must be put to death. Before you turn a blind eye, consider that the Bible is equally as hard on folks who eat pork, wear clothes made of different cloth, and commit adultery.

Listening to the radio in the car the other day, I scanned the dial in search of a good oldies station. What I found instead was the windbag, Sean Hannity (a.k.a. IN-SANITY) who was blathering on about Hillary Clinton's health care plan. He was asking his listeners to point to where -- in the Constitution -- it says American's have a right to free health care. Clearly, he needs a refresher course in American history and poli
