Is ACLU making itself Irrelevant?
SHARE More Sharing
While ACLU continues the good fight for racial fairness and gay marriage, much more basic rights have been taken from us, hollowing out the core of our democracy.

One More Reason to Love Chase Bank

My Chase Mastercard "declined" the charge from an Icelandic organization which was accepting donations for Wikileaks, though I was nowhere near the credit limit and had never missed a payment. Since then, my card has declined everything I've tried to put on it, and two phone calls to the card service have not cleared up the situation.

Making the world safe for truth, one person at a time
SHARE More Sharing
The newspapers and TV reports have circumscribed limits for acceptable versions of the facts, as discussed in polite society. But we don't have to let them define our reality. Every time we let a friend know that we don't subscribe to the NYTimes' version of reality, we give our friend permission to broaden his consideration and explore alternative possibilities. We make the world a little safer for the truth.

Two 9/11 Videos to Ruin your Day
SHARE More Sharing
I'm a phyicist. Seven years back, I was dragged into the world of 9/11 Truth, in tears and confusion, by the force of my own scientific logic. I know a lot of scientists who have had a similar experience. But most people rely on experts to parse scientific truth for them, and their path into the fold must depend on testimony of credible human faces that tell the story from the inside. Speaking to these two sensibilities, here are two very different videos.

A Letter a Day until the War Ends

Shh- don't tell anybody. Since the Korean War, we as a nation have decided that the Constitutional provision that only congress shall have the authority to declare war is obsolete. What an opportunity for President Obama, Doctor of Laws, to take us back to strict constructionism.

A Letter a Day until the War Ends

The war is not over. Every day, in our name, innocent Iraqis are being killed by frightened American soldiers who are in over their heads. Countless others are being inflamed against America. President Obama is committed to ending the war slowly. We can support him to end it quickly. I have committed to writing a letter each day until the war ends.

Why I can't get excited about Obama's Race Speech

I don't think it's possible to move beyond the Bush legacy until we debunk the picture of reality that they created with the classical Orwellian tactic of repeating the Big Lie, and infiltrating the major news organs. It is essential that a new Democratic Administration investigate and exhibit for the nation the extravagant criminality of the Bush regime.

Listen to "Encourage Fear", recorded by Bright Morning Star

"Encourage Fear" - a song recorded by Bright Morning Star 25 years ago - sounds as though it were written with the Bush Administration in mind.
