Gayle Brandeis is the author of Fruitflesh: Seeds of Inspiration for Women Who Write, Dictionary Poems, and two novels: The Book of Dead Birds, which won Barbara Kingsolver's Bellwether Prize for Fiction in Support of a Literature of Social Change, and her latest, Self Storage. She is also a teacher and activist, and has been named a Writer Who Makes a Difference by The Writer Magazine.
