27 years, voter reg still good
for a place I haven't lived at in years,
Rockville, a white place, karaoke mood
prevails, a place old spooks revisit fears,
retire and claim Medicare Part B, think:
Meet the Parents. Not really paradise,
but a good place to skulk and have a drink
with some Linda Tripp flashing tired eyes.
But a Black expat, overseas one year,
looking to vote in 2020, might
find his rego gone missing or, oh dear,
have his ballot tossed because he's not white.
