It used to be that Palestinians threw stones while Israeli soldiers fired bullets and rumbled tanks. It used to be that Palestinians fired catapults while Israeli soldiers fired tear gas and rubber bullets. It used to be that Palestinians fired crude home-made rockets that made life uncomfortable for Israelis and an annoyance to the IDF. Not so now; the Palestinians have improved their rockets and, bet on it, one of these days they will have the capability to hit targets in Tel Aviv -- ground attack or Iron Dome not.

You see, this is a cycle of violence with grievances stretching back 50 years or more. And for all the talk of peace this is ultimately about land -- what Israel wants to expand the country, and what Palestinians want to organize their own. The longer the conflict the more land Israel grabs, that sparks renewed conflicts, that triggers more little "wars," and more land grabs. Get the picture? Palestinians see themselves pushed and crowded into smaller and smaller parcels of land while Israel builds more settlements and bring in more of heir people that sparks more outrage, more rockets, more violence and more wars and killing, bombings and ground offensives. And Israel, each time, deploys more and more troops to "protect their people from terrorists."

But in recent times the conflict has taken on an ugly racist tone as Israel seeks to justify its action and belligerence.

Recently, a well-known Israeli politician and member of the Kessnet not only branded ALL Palestinians as terrorists but went on to say that the mothers of all Palestinians should also be killed during the ongoing Israeli assault on the besieged Gaza Strip.

Ayelet Shaked of the ultra-nationalist Jewish Home party called for the slaughter of Palestinian mothers who she said give birth to "little snakes." "They have to die and their houses should be demolished so that they cannot bear any more terrorists," Shaked said.

She added, "They are all our enemies and their blood should be on our hands. This also applies to the mothers of the dead terrorists." The remarks are considered as a call for genocide as she declared that all Palestinians are Israel's enemies and must be killed.

On Monday Shaked quoted this on her Facebook page:

" Behind every terrorist stand dozens of men and women, without whom he could not engage in terrorism. They are all enemy combatants, and their blood shall be on all their heads. Now this also includes the mothers of the martyrs, who send them to hell with flowers and kisses. They should follow their sons, nothing would be more just. They should go, as should the physical homes in which they raised the snakes. Otherwise, more little snakes will be raised there."

Reacting to Shaked's remarks, the Turkish premier said Israel's policy in Gaza is no different than Hitler's mentality.

" An Israeli woman said Palestinian mothers should be killed, too. And she's a member of the Israeli parliament. What is the difference between this mentality and Hitler's?" Erdogan asked.

This is all happening in the light of Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Nathanyu, calling Palestinians "monsters and terrorists." Such rabid racism helps the IDF to carry out its invasion and to treat Palestinians lives as worthless and not deserving of respect because their Commander-in- Chief has set the tone, in very such the same say that the United States government set the tone when it invaded Iraq. American soldiers routinely called innocent Iraqis "camel F**Ker" and "sand monkeys."

Finally, Israel's doctrine of collective punishment of the Palestinians brings back memories of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising in 1943 and the brutal and vicious reaction of the German Army and Gestapo. Thousands of Jews lost their lives under this punitive doctrine of collective punishment when they rose up against the tyranny of Nazi Germany's occupation and brutal racism.
