A lunar eclipse can bring up the Shadow; we can act it out unconsciously or recognize and integrate it into our conscious personality and act accordingly.   The positive aspects of Aries are courage, self-sufficiency and leadership; its shadow is selfishness, rashness and aggression.   Libra's positive attribute are sociability, fairness and diplomacy, while its shadow side is indecision, self-sacrifice and dependency.   This lunar eclipse asks us to acknowledge these issues and see where we stand.

This eclipsed full Moon forms a T-square with Jupiter in Cancer, so we have to make sure we don't go overboard, get over-optimistic or over-extended.   Jupiter in Cancer wants to nourish and support our family, our sense of security and most importantly, our emotional body.   We need to find a balance between what nurtures us and what nurtures our partners.

The Sabian symbol for the Sun at 26* Libra is: An Eagle and a large white Dove change into each other. (Astrological Mandala/ Dane Rudhyar)   The Eagle of spiritual insight and the Dove of loving compassion form the two sides of Wisdom.   Lady Wisdom calls to us to unite love and knowledge, right brain and left brain, feminine and masculine consciousness so we get the whole and holy picture.

The Sabian symbol for the Moon at 26* Aries is: Standing in the center of the fiery Fountain of Life, a man is overwhelmed by hundreds of new inspirations. (Revised Sabian Symbols/ Steven D. Eardley)     The fiery fountain of life contains all potentials, all outcomes, all perceptions.   How can one person contain them all?   Perhaps this eclipse degree calls us to let the fires of inspiration run through us while letting the Eagle of Spirit and the Dove of Compassion decide which is the best potential for us.

The Aries/Libra opposition confronts us with the task of balancing Self and Other, personal power and compassion.   How can we be free and not give the Other that same freedom?   We really need Wisdom to do it.

This is what Rumi has to say:

Solomon's Crooked Crown

Solomon was busy judging others,

When it was his personal thoughts

that were disrupting the community.

His crown slid crooked on his head.

He put it straight, but the crown went

awry again.   Eight times this happened.
