So it isn't that we progressives have become overly sensitive finger-pointers, it's that there has been a dramatic and seemingly relentless shift towards the Christianization of all aspects of American life. Today, those of us who believe in little things like the First Amendment and who fear the theocracy that fundamentalists want to institute in the United States need to frequently kick up a fuss in an attempt to remind America that there is another way, a way that we should return to.
You remember that way, don't you? "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof[.]"
