Massive Impediments Standing in the Way of Solving America's Greatest Problems

*Create legislation that will establish fines and other appropriate penalties for any American who has the ability to vote in national elections but refuses to do so, following the practice of twenty seven other countries that already do so.

So there we have a set of viable solutions for this country's major problems; but how can they be advanced in the face of the current resistance coming from this three headed consortium that has no intention of cooperating in the effort?

Let's talk about the fact that all Americans have been granted a Constitutional right to vote but, unfortunately, that only about 54% of eligible voters cast their ballots in federal elections. That is pathetic, that is disgraceful, and one might accurately conclude that this is the primary reason why our democracy is unraveling. But with that in mind what needs to be done to drastically improve voter turnout?

I see only two potential ways by which this can possibly be done and both of them involve the need for the American people to radically change their ways. They have to stop sitting on the sidelines just watching this election process continue to deteriorate and, instead, get in the middle of the action. They must recognize the degree to which our democracy is under attack and the fact that they are the key to bringing this situation under control.

Those that refuse to vote for various reasons must understand that by their noninvolvement and inactions they are allowing this election process to be controlled by the masters of Corporatism and their Republican facilitators, both of which know that suppressing the vote is the key to their success. The American people have a very powerful weapon at their disposal to use in this battle against the forces that do not want solutions, that fear change.

That weapon is their Constitutional right to cast their ballots in our local and national elections. The one thing that all of these reenergized voters must do is to refuse to listen to those many negative individuals who dismiss this kind of progressive movement and say that its futile and a waste of time to vote, that the system and elections are rigged and it just doesn't matter if you vote or not. We have to completely tune out these naysayers who are a major part of this overall problem.

When you are in a fight and are under attack by powerful forces you have to fight back; you cannot allow yourself to be bullied and beaten down. It's time for the people of this country to fight back against those who would destroy their Constitutional rights.

There are organizations hard at work to bring about changes in this government through the use of Constitutional amendments and a constitution convention. While this is a very complex and difficult process which involves huge turnouts of voters and the support of politicians in the Congress and in the various states, it is one way by which the power of the people can be used to solve many of this country's most critical problems. Those who are organizing the effort need the support of millions of Americans to make this a success. It can be done.
