The Greys et al May Be the Cosmic Equivalent of Flatland's Janitors
To mix my Monty Python-alumni metaphors, I think of the greys, and the entire genetic-engineering endeavor, as the inter-dimensional equivalent of the dwarf characters of Gilliam's 1981 sci-fi movie "The Time Bandits", whose job before stealing the map of space time from the Supreme Being was creating small bushes and trees. Btw, the greys would be the dwarves before they stole the map and became infinitely more interesting.
