My granddaughter, Samantha, had a Guidant pacemaker implanted in her when she was three days old. She was just 14 months and 12 days old when her pacemaker failed and killed her. Guidant and companies that manufacture life saving devices need to be held to a higher standard. The CEO's and top executives need to be held responsible for their actions. More people will suffer and die because of greed over life.

Guidant pacemaker using a Medtronic lead implanted in a 3-day-old infant on April 30, 2004, dies at 14 months old on July 9, 2005. Pacemaker was never tested with Medtronic's lead. Guidant never responded to doctor's concern with the preformance of pacemaker after only two weeks of implantation.
