I confess to being a former New Yorker now living in Oregon. I will always love the New York City I knew as a young, professional dancer in the 1960's and 70's. I am an ardent fan of German, Russian and French opera and spent many happy hours at the Metropolitan Opera House, both the Old Met down on 38th St, before it was torn down, and the New Met at Lincoln Center. In fact, I performed on numerous occasions at Lincoln Center, on the stage of what was then known as The New York State Theater and across the way at Avery Fischer Hall. Now, as an older man, I spend my days and nights writing serious music, and reading and writing political blogs. I am an elected Democratic Precinct Committee Person. Fortunately I am retired, so nobody is harmed by how I spend my time, except of course some right wingers. I don't mind harming them at all.
