Lydia Howell is a poet, lifelong activist and independent journalist in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Winner of a 2007 Premack Award for Public Interest Journalism (writng for alternative press PULSE Newspaper) and a 1978 Dallas Press Club Award for Public INterest Journaliism (writng for EQUAL TIMES an independent feminist press). Her poetry has appeared in various small literary magazines and newspapers, won awards and been recorded.Howell has also been a community radio journalist/producer/host for 25+ years in Dallas, Houston and Minneapolis. Currently, she is producer-host of CATALYST:politics & culture at KFAI Radio, available online on the CATALYST page at http://www.kfai.org
