Tom Huckin is a professor emeritus of English and Writing at the University of Utah, specializing in the study of modern propaganda. He has co-authored five books on academic subjects and written some 90 scholarly papers, including a chapter in the newly-published anthology, Propaganda and Rhetoric in Democracy. He is now a citizen-activist and keyboard warrior taking full advantage of 'retirement' in Salt Lake City. He is a co-leader of the Salt Lake chapter of Move to Amend, trying to institute public financing of local elections. When not kvetching about antidemocratic forces in today's USA, he can be found pulling weeds from his garden, cleaning up after his dog, shoveling snow, rooting for the Utah Jazz, or feeding the 30-40 birds who apparently live in his backyard.
