......Or is it simply Ignorance? Or do Americans simply not care about the vitals of such as our Medical Care, our Education, our Infrastructure?
Where does the United States rate compared to the other nations of the world in providing its citizens with quality Medical Care? Too many Americans will say: "We're Number One!" The World Health Organization rates the United States Number 37th "best." W.H.O. are they? Well, only the world's most creditable authority, but "UnAmerican," don't you know. (France is Number 1.)
On Quality of Life, a survey just this year ranked Austria Number 1, the U.S.Number 7.
On to Education, where a recent international study ranked the U.S. 18th out of the 20 nations surveyed. (Finland is Number 1.)
On to Infrastructure, taking our Airports as an example, where an international authority found that most of the Top Ten are in the Far East, the remainder in the Middle East and Europe. The U.S. is further down the list among the also-rans.
Our improvement -- assuming we wish such -- in these "races" is hardly possible while ignoring the First Law of Navigation: "Know Your Position." And one would suppose also Caring.

Yes, "The truth will set us free," and improve our lives and those of our children -- if we're open to it and that is what we want.
