Reminiscing

Message robert braunstein

Hanging around
And going nowhere fast
Thinking about
The present and the past.

Remembering some people
I have known;
Wondering if
Anyone has really grown.

Shuffling the cards
That I've been dealt;
And the thoughts I've thought
And the things I've felt.

Witnessing the days
As they go by;
Hoping that I've
Zippered up my fly.

Watching all the mudslides
And oil spills
Counting earthquake victims,
Just for thrills.

Living your life
Isn't easy,
Chasing currency
And feeling sleazy.

They say you have to
Work to earn a living;
If life's a ride
We should be driven.

I just got a job
Inside a mine.
Unless it folds,
I'm doing kinda fine.
