Hi Heather,
I was not referring to transgenders. I was referring specifically to men who are NOT transgender but are opportunistic convicted sexual predators who are taking advantage of the new "gender identity" laws to gain access to more vulnerable victims in women's prisons, shelters and locker rooms.
Hopefully we can at least agree there is a big difference between transgenders and opportunistic sex-offenders taking advantage of "gender identity" laws to gain access to vulnerable women.
Because, unfortunately, as the gender identity laws are currently written in WA state, there are currently no restrictions on convicted sex offenders identifying as women. This fact is easy to verify if you would just look.
A big part of what I meant by "marginalizing voices of rape victims in women's prisons" is that they are desperately trying to report these attacks perpetrated by these opportunistic sex offenders posing as transgenders, but their voices of these victims are being dismissed by the prison management, government officials like Inslee, the corporate media, and now by you?
Instead of dismissing my attempt to bring this to your attention as "harmful messaging" I beg you to investigate for yourself the evidence that has been collected so far from these female prisoners themselves and the women who are trying to bring their stories to light.
Is it too much to ask that someone from the League of Women Voters go directly to the Purdy prison in WA state and hear what these women have to say about being forcibly housed with convicted sex offenders?
In the meantime, here are some links-
