That is literally all I am asking the League of Women Voters to help out with. I mean, I think we can agree that transgenders and convicted sexual predators are NOT the same thing here, no?
I do not understand why you, the President of the Seattle King County women's League of Voters, keep trying to twist that simple request for help into something that it is not-- "transphobic."
I have to wonder exactly what your definition of "transphobia" is because, as far as the activism of the Women's Liberation Front is concerned, they have never once claimed that trans people do not exist or sought to constrain the basic human rights of transgender persons to a job or restrict their access to public service in any capacity.
But if the League of Women Voters adheres to the newly adopted definition of "transphobic" as someone who believes that biological women should not be forced to identify with transgender women, even if those transgender women choose to keep their male genitalia, because then we clearly have a fundamental disagreement on what transphobia, or a transphobic person, really is.
It should not require a petition of millions of signatures to get the League of Women Voters to remember that "equal rights for all" includes the rights of biological women to not be forced to identify with transgender women. To accuse these gender non-conforming women of "transphobia" is flat-out misogyny.
Sincerely,
Kathleen Murphy

Again, I am not referring to people who are transgender. I am referring specifically to men who are not transgender and who have past convictions of violent sexual assaults against women and children and who are taking advantage of the new gender identity laws which allow any man to self identify as "female" status to gain entry to the female prisons with their male genitalia intact. I understand the distinction you are drawing, but WoLF does not draw that distinction in much of its advocacy.
That is literally all I am asking the League of Women Voters to help out with. I've already directed you to LWVWA since this regards state legislation.
I mean, I think we can agree that transgenders and convicted sexual predators are NOT the same thing here, no? I agree that transgender people and convicted sexual predators are distinct groups.
I do not understand why you, the President of the Seattle King County women's League of Voters, keep trying to twist that simple request for help into something that it is not-- "transphobic." I do not feel it is productive for me to spend more energy explaining our position or why it is at odds with WoLF's advocacy.
I have to wonder exactly what your definition of "transphobia" is because, as far as the activism of the Women's Liberation Front is concerned, they have never once claimed that trans people do not exist or sought to constrain the basic human rights of transgender persons to a job or restrict their access to public service in any capacity. It's not my definition so much as the definition offered by members and allies of the trans community. Here's an example [click here] of a definition I agree with. Many of WoLF's activities fall under this definition.
