So I want to know this: How did the next gun massacre figure into their plans? Did they assume that there might be movement toward meaningful gun control measures being finally adopted? Did they think this would play better after the next massacre, or would it be a useful distraction? (As in, "See, they SAY they only want to regulate ownership of firearms, but actually, they want to regulate silencers and everything...")
To be honest, I can't imagine what they were thinking. This silencer deregulation thing caught me totally by surprise. It's so weird, you can't make this stuff up.
They say it's all about freedom. Freedom to do what? Murder your wife without waking up the kids? Blast that big buck without disturbing the rest of the herd, so you can plug a couple more? I grew up hunting with my dad, a lifelong gun enthusiast. I'm pretty sure my dad would not think highly of such a hunter calling himself a "sportsman."
Actually, I don't know what to call these people. I think my dad would've called them a word that starts with "ass" and ends with "holes."
