Masks don't prevent the spread of viruses, since the size of the virus is much smaller than the weave holes in the masks. There are numerous articles about why healthy people (people with no symptoms) do not benefit, or provide protection to others, by wearing a mask. Here's one such article from the Journal of the American Medical Association. Medical Masks | Infectious Diseases | JAMA | JAMA Network
NARPA--Sorry. Masks protect people in large groups, just like vaccines protect people.
Me--I respect your right to your deeply held religious beliefs. But why are you trying to force your religion on others? For the sake of argument, if being vaccinated and masked protects you from catching Covid, why is it necessary for everyone around you to be vaccinated and masked? Your religious beliefs say that you're already protected.
NARPA--It's called virtue signaling. Good people get Covid shots and wear masks. Bad people don't. We're sorry you won't be joining us at this year's conference, where once again, we will be training people in state-of-the-art methods of advocating for patients' rights, such as the constitutionally-protected right of people to refuse unwanted treatment. Maybe next year we'll have a session on the Nuremberg Code, which does not permit any use of coercion to induce people to participate in receiving medical treatments.
Me-- Excellent idea. I knew eventually we'd come to an agreement about something. Here's a good speaker you could invite to talk on that subject. Click Here
I would have recommended an attorney acquaintance who had once brought a lawsuit based on the Nuremberg Code, who was kind enough to share his knowledge about the Code and other human rights legal frameworks with me. Unfortunately, he died very shortly after getting an mRNA Covid vaccine. I wish that were a really bad joke, but, tragically, it's not.
