Article One, Section 6 of the Constitution specifically forbids any Senator or Representative from being appointed to a civil office during the time they are serving in the Senate or House. Yet, a majority of the Warren Commission's members (Hale Boggs, Gerald Ford, John Cooper, and Richard Russell) were currently serving members of the House or Senate while serving on the Warren Commission. The Commission was specifically created by LBJ to circumvent legal inquiries by the House, the Senate, or the appointment of a special prosecutor by JFK's brother Attorney General Robert Kennedy, as well as the empaneling of a grand jury in Texas. I believe that it was specifically created so that LBJ and J. Edgar Hoover could carefully control the information and the scenarios permitted for consideration in President Kennedy's death.
The extra-legal, blue ribbon panel, has now become the norm for problematic government crises, including September 11, 2001. It was a bad idea in 1963; and it is a worse one today. Our Senators and Representatives are supposed to be the best of us, a blue ribbon group of political wisdom and patriotic responsibility sent to the seat of government to make the best decisions possible for all of us. And as the House Select Committee on Assassinations and the Senator Church's Intelligence Committee proved in the 1970's, they are more than up to the task if they are given the opportunity.
Far more than FDR's New Deal, the overarching reach and interference of the Federal Government in the average American's daily life, in a completely negative sense, began with the murder of President Kennedy in Dallas, and the creation of the extra-legal Warren Commission to investigate that crime. These two actions led directly to the two most divisive actions by our government in the last fifty years: Vietnam and Watergate.
END PART TWO
In Part Three, I will consider JFK's murder and its relationship to Vietnam and Watergate; the actions of former Air Force Major General Edward Lansdale and how they indicate his being central to the planning of JFK's murder; as well as the odd happenings around the Presidential limousine the day of the assassination. Finally, I will name the individuals who I believe were at the upper-levels of the conspiracy to kill the Thirty-fifth President of the United States.
