Nelson Betancourt is the Executive Director of the non-profit organization Awakening/art & culture, dedicated to artistry, heritage, imagination and the public interest. Our organization has 4 areas of programming: the Orlando Latin American Film & Heritage Festival (OLA Fest), Abolition 2020 Interfaith Ceremony (calling for the abolition of nuclear weapons; Public Banking for the Common Good (working to establish a public bank in Central Florida) and we have recently applied to the FCC for a low-power FM license to promote citizenship, economic and social security.
