With all the current unfolding events another notable Mad Tea Party candidate has been pushed into the background. It was just a few days ago that another Mad Tea Party favorite Christine O'Donnell, the Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate from Delaware, tried to put a thorny problem behind her.
O'Donnell, who had admitted to dabbling in witchcraft in her younger days, stated in a paid television political advertisement, "I am not a witch." Those familiar with Republican Party political history recalled Richard Nixon, as he sought to stave off removal from the presidency, stating in a press conference the memorable words, "I am not a crook."
Such is life these days within that reformist wing of the Republicans, its Mad Tea Party auxiliary.
