I deal with the contradiction of being a retired mechanical engineer and a Luddite at the same time. I have lost faith in our government: it is totally controlled by the corporate monster that is gobbling up the world. It uses mechanical engineers to make weapons or machinery to put people out of work while obscenely stripping natural resources. So long as science, medicine, education, justice, legislative and media are bought and controlled by psychopathic oligarchs, Big Brother will guide tech to rule, steal and murder. CO2 climate change is just another boogieman/woman that will be used to cull and control us while making a joke of the word 'sustainable.' Consequently, I live in a rural area and am learning to grow my own food. This has brought me in closer contact with Nature, the real world, and I have never felt more spirituality. The country and the world can continue on its path to hell, and I will still find peace.

Opinion -USA Plan: Militarized Control of Population SHARE
The Plan prefigures a real hierarchical and militarized social model.
This article dissects a plan for testing millions of people for Covid 19 and keeping track of them later to know what the disease is doing and be able to recommend local lockdowns. The plan looks bonkers but it is on the Rockefeller Foundation website. I am curious to see how this will be introduced in the propaganda mill and if any of it will gain traction. I hope not!

The Growing Danger of Ecosystem Collapse and Trump's War on Nature SHARE
I have been carefully observing a photographing wildlife around my rural home. I do not use pesticides and I see to it that there are nesting places and food sources for wildlife. In the last couple of years, insect life has plummeted. This winter has been a winter without the smaller birds, the juncos, towhees, bushtits, kinglets and other flying friends. I do not think our corrupt capitalistic government will do anything but make it worse. Solutions have to come from us. Things we can do to change this:Eat only organic food--save our soil; starve out toxic agribusinessShop local--don't give money to Walmarts or Bezos or Gates.Resist perscription drugs--we need to break the back of big Pharma.Get off the consumption hamster wheel. Capitalism is killing us.Don't vote in federal elections. They are all corrupt and imply acceptance of this path to extinction.

Thirty Seconds to Midnight--The Final Wake Up Call SHARE
Don't watch this if you are weak at heart. The linked documentary says that if humans don't stop feeding climate change, using nuclear power and weapons, and probing Russia in a futile quest for world domination, humans will not be around much longer. I see no problems with the facts of the documentary, but I am not as optimistic as it shows regarding civilization's ability to stop the run-away madness.
