The choice could not be clearer. Logically, the majority of super delegates should embrace Sanders, and with him, victory. However, Sanders is an "outsider," while Clinton is the consummate insider. So, for these delegates to support Sanders, outside intervening force must be applied. This is ultimately how Sanders wins.
What is the nature of this intervening force? There are several elements to this.
First, "Bernie or Bust" now has about 100,000 pledge takers. These represent millions who strongly support Sanders, and who will NOT under ANY circumstances support Clinton. Clinton's already bleak prospects evaporate given this reality. It will be necessary to "beat the super delegates over the head," so to say, with this reality.
Petitions with massive numbers of names to this effect must be delivered to each super delegate and to the convention. Also, the "Bernie of Bust" delegates, likely numbering about half of all Sanders convention delegates, must demonstrate inside the convention, making clear that they will not under ANY circumstances vote to nominate Clinton. Further, they must make it clear that if Clinton is nominated anyway, they will stage a nationally visible walkout of the convention.
Second, outside the convention there must be tens of thousands of anti-Clinton, pro-Sanders demonstrators. Given the historical proclivity of the Philadelphia police department to use violence as a first resort, it is likely that the convention will be surrounded by rioting as hundreds of "Sanders or Bust" delegates stage a mass walk-out to join the demonstrators outside.
Far less than this destroyed Hubert Humphrey's chances of winning against Nixon in 1968. The "police riot" outside the convention was televised nationally. This effectively sank Humphrey's chances of winning. Imagine the negative effects of a delegate walkout into another police riot outside this year's convention on Clinton's already dismal election chances!
Third, across the nation, there must be massive pro-Sanders demonstrations in multiple cities, also calling for Clinton to not be nominated.
The prospect of all of this occurring must be made absolutely certain to the super delegates BEFORE they cast their votes.
If all of this is done, then Sanders will become the Democratic Party's nominee this summer!
