All three retrogrades of Mercury this year are in each of the three water signs.   The Cosmic Story says we need to work on our emotional intelligence.   Get in touch with your feelings by letting the emotion (fear, anger, hunger, lust) move through you without it taking you over.    Actually feel the emotion and decide what you want to do about it.   So rather than say, I'm angry, you can say, I am feeling anger.    Don't repress the feeling; remove yourself a bit from it and let it give you its message.   Such as, this person always lets me down.   Why get angry about it?   Perhaps I need to not trust this person to meet my needs.

The first big energy shift of June comes on June 2nd when Venus enters Cancer.   Having been born out of this oceanic womb, Venus/Aphrodite connects us to our deepest feelings of home, hearth and security. And of course, Love.   If you look at Venus in the sky right now, she is just becoming visible as the Evening Star of Wisdom.   Venus has been hidden behind the Sun for the past few months, transmuting the Wisdom of last June's Venus transit over the face of the Sun. Some new Wisdom is available to us now--hopefully we've committed to ourselves and our destiny and are open to this new revelation.   For the next 5 1/2 months Venus will get brighter and higher in the evening sky, a sign of hope and beauty to help us face the tasks ahead.   Venus calls to us, "Send your love into the future!'

Since Cancer is a cardinal sign--one of the signs of either the Equinox or Solstice--all the planets moving through this sign will make contact with the Uranus/Pluto square, picking up the energy of renewal and awakening.   Mercury in Cancer runs ahead of the other planets now--the Sun, Venus, Mars and Jupiter--picking up clues about the state of the revolution, which it will ponder during its retrograde to be passed on to the planets traveling behind him.

As Venus travels through Cancer, she trines both Saturn in Scorpio and Neptune in Pisces on June 7th, the day Neptune turns retrograde--the station giving more power to our spiritual imagination.   We have a celestial cheering squad supporting our transformation!     A grand trine is a talent and a gift, especially a water trine: for the next month or so, there will be a planet in each of the three water signs working synergistically.   This watery blessing will be available to us all summer long to soften the square's harsh energy.

Venus comes along after Mercury to engage and charge this watery, healing, feeling energy with the power of Love.   She blesses the waters with her new vision of Wisdom, lending love to Saturn's unrelenting look at our intimacy issues and her enchanting voice to Neptune's spiritual call.   Venus in turn picks up the hope and the patience of these big planets.   On June 11th Venus in Cancer stands opposite Pluto in Capricorn and on June 12th she squares Uranus in Aries.   What will she do with this intense energy?   I believe Venus can help us resolve whatever issues confront us.   Remember the 60s' slogan, Make Love not War? My hope is that we do just that.   If we understand how to access her Wisdom, we will make conscious, free choices which can alter the probabilities of our future.   Each of our choices creates a different future.   Your responsibility is to make conscious ones that are centered in your values and are sourced in your heart.

Gemini New Moon, June 8, 2013

   The Gemini New Moon occurs on Saturday June 8, 2013 at 8:56am PDT/ 11:56am EDT/ 3:56pm GMT.

Gemini deals with the Mind, how we use it and how it uses us.   It's time to align our behavior and perceptions with our inner values and truth.   If you value honesty, then be honest in all your dealings, especially with yourself.   Don't turn away from the truth--both light and dark--of who you are.     Gemini is mutable enough to accept all of you.   Then you have to know what you value and live accordingly.

Gemini is concerned with exploring your immediate environment, communicating with those around you and learning to understand how the world works.   That's why Gemini is so versatile; it wants to know about everything, everyone and then some.   When the Sun is in Gemini, we are preparing to engage in the world as summer approaches and our projects take form.   Who do you need to talk to about your projects or issues?   Coaches are helpful; friends are helpful when you actually listen to them!     But having someone to bounce your ideas off of will be very helpful this month.   With Gemini, two heads are better than one!

Gemini is the sign of the Twins and as such it also reflects the opposites of feminine and masculine, female and male, intuition and logic.   How do we come into a harmonious relationship with our inner Beloved as well as our outer Beloved?   How do we get our intuition and our logic to work together?   Don't fall back on behavior that includes accusations, criticism or too much talking that goes nowhere. This New Moon energy wants you to plant new intellectual seeds, seeds that offer you new ways to perceive your world and your relationships.   When you change your limiting thoughts, you change your behavior.   To really change your whole attitude, you need to change the story going on in your unconscious.   That's where Mercury the psycho-pomp can help.   Listen to your dreams now and then work with them to understand their hidden messages.

When you program your Mind for change, you have to get to the root story you're actually living in.   If you live in a story of fear, perhaps you need to look at what it is you're really afraid of.   Usually, it's not what you think.   It's time to do some spring cleaning of your mind!   Clean out the cobwebs and get rid of old beliefs that no longer serve you.   To you Catholics out there, guilt and shame are good ones to go!   To all women out there, get rid of the shoulds and oughts.   It is time for each of us to have our own original thoughts about what our life is all about, so we can get on with healing the future.    Mars in Gemini will help you sort out your goals.

This New Moon is in a frustrating, quirky relationship with the Scorpio North Node, making us vulnerable to changing opinions and ideas about our future goals.    Since Gemini is open to all options, we sometimes experience this as being indecisive or wishy-washy.   So see if you can unite your mind and heart in a soulful way and you'll find your future.

This Gemini New Moon falls right on the bright, beautiful sapphire star of Rigel in Orion's foot.   Rigal is a blue supergiant that is 18 times more massive than our Sun, a star used in navigation all over the world. So it is a guide of sorts, and we can use it to guide our minds to the big picture.    Ancient astrologers saw Rigel as a positive influence, similar to Jupiter and Mars acting together to bestow honor, happiness, wealth and fame.     According to astrologer Stephanie Austin, "Esoterically Rigel facilitates the integration of Spirit within Matter.' This is the ultimate purpose of the Gemini Twins, for one is mortal and the other immortal.   It is a question of uniting the Above and Below, the Within and Without.

The Sabian symbol for the Sun and Moon at 19* Gemini is: A large archaic volume reveals a traditional Wisdom.   This symbol refers to the occult tradition of the seed-ideas or archetypal patterns that teach us to work with the cosmic cycles and manifestations of life on Earth.   We need to understand "the things that are ordained', the patterns of life which our modern society has cut us off from.   This is the time to ask for Wisdom!
