This method is not for everyone-and I am not advising anyone to drop their current health insurance coverage-if you have any. As was the original purpose of health insurance, it provides the means for a large group of people to pay for the few who need professional medical help. With it's advanced medical technology, the medical profession provides great value for acute medical situations and emergencies.

For chronic conditions, however, I believe in the power of Mother Nature, and in the power of our bodies to heal themselves through proper diet and lifestyle. If and when we learn this, we will not be so dependent on the medical system, which could result in the containment of otherwise spiraling medical and health insurance costs.

The information provided is based upon my 62 years of both experiencing sickness and health, years of research, applying the information I have studied and learned, and then experiencing optimal health through proper diet and lifestyle.

In particular, for the first 30 years of my life, I had no idea that food was related to health. I was a "see food" eater. Whatever I saw, I ate. It wasn't until 1977 that I started thinking about what I was putting into my body. Literally and figuratively, I had become "fed up" with the current medical paradigm and how it was treating my hay fever/asthmatic condition: Shots, drugs, testing, more shots, more drugs, more testing. When I had enough of that, I started searching for the universal truths of: Who am I? What am I doing here? Where am I going? Once I learned the way our bodies, minds and spirits work, I gave up putting poisons into my body. I stopped and avoided eating overly processed foods and animal products, and began a diet of grain, land and sea vegetables, beans, and nuts and fruits. I transformed myself from a sickly, angry, wandering individual to a healthy, confident, loving partner, father and friend to many. My angry, self-righteous and fearful emotions have changed to patience, understanding and courage"well most of the time"Together our family has eased into a mostly healthy lifestyle.

In conclusion, everybody understands food is vitally important. We can't live without it. If we understand that the food we eat becomes us, why not make our daily eating our personal care for our health? Based on my experiences and research, if we are eating well, we cannot get sick.

So, what is the BEST food to eat to optimize our health?
