I am an 'older' progressive; a holdover from the hippie generation. I have raised 3 children, am a proud grandmother, and an outspoken political junkie. I have worked in the healthcare field for 30 years, both for insurance companies and for the other side, so I know my way around the health care industry. I have forgotten more than anyone should ever know about our health care system. Bad enough that my memory loss is insufficient to erase all of the dishonest policies of the insurance industry, I even have memories of fraud on the provider side as well.
I was a whistleblower in the mid-90's, reporting illegal denial of necessary medical care to patients.
To the best of my recollection, I do not believe that I have ever voted for a Republican. I have ethics and a sense of fair play, therefore the Republican party does not qualify as a choice for me.
(1 comments) Sunday, October 28, 2012 Dr. Romney & Mitt Hyde For President?SHARE
Are we allowed 2 Presidents in office at once?
That's what Romney offers with his split personality politics. He's of two minds on seemingly everything other than his need to win. That seems to be the only thing he can agree with himself about.
Over the course of Mitt Romney's presidential campaign, and before, he has shown beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is incapable of sticking to what he says. This man has changed views more than Paris Hilton in a sunglasses boutique.
If you cannot trust what he says, how can you trust him to be leader of our country?
If you cannot believe what he says, how can you believe he is a good choice?
This isn't about him being a Republican. This is about him showing signs of mental instability as well as blatantly lying to the people on countless occasions for the sole intention of trying to win votes.
Saturday, October 27, 2012 Hey, Mitt! Don't Tell Me That You Love Women!SHARE
Misogynists Don't Love Women
Open Letter To the Republican Party and their fearless leader, Willard Mitt Romney:
DON'T TELL ME YOU LOVE WOMEN WHEN:
•You say you want women to have jobs, but will not stand up for equal pay. If you cared a whit, Mitt, you would be outraged that women only earn 77 cents for every dollar that men make. You would say that it is wrong and that you would advocate for change. Instead, you have been silent. 77 cents on the dollar? Do you have any idea how much money that adds up to? What we could do for our families with that money? This is an economic issue!
DON'T TELL ME YOU LOVE WOMEN WHEN:
•Your party voted against the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act and you refuse to say whether you support it or are opposed to it. If you "love" women, how can you be against allowing women to sue for wage discrimination?
Tuesday, October 2, 2012 Domestic Violence: How Many Beat Downs Will It Take Before Annie Gets A Gun?SHARE
When Abused Women Strike Back
How much physical or emotional abuse does it take for a woman to fight back? When will Annie get tired of the beat downs, the bruises, the assaults and the psychological tortures that have altered her life and turned her into a victim of repeated spousal abuse at the hands of this man she calls her husband? How many times will she listen as he tells her she is worthless and stupid and that she should just kill herself because she is a parasite and leech? A bad mother, a useless, good for nothing slut who is not worthy to even see her own children?
Too often, battered and abused woman will stay down for the count, but many times a woman caught in this torture trap will get back up and say, "I am done. I will not accept this and I will fight back", and that is when Annie will get a gun. That is when the abuser will become the hunted, the prey.

Mitt Romney: The Prostitute That Would Be President!
Willard Mitt Romney is nothing more than a high-priced political prostitute. If you have the money and power to propel him towards his ambition to become President, he will go anywhere and say anything to service you. Grover Norquist? Karl Rove? David and Charles Koch? Donald Trump? Sheldon Adelson? They are his best clients! If you have the financial wherewithal to pay, Romney will oblige you by signing pledges, supporting your causes, and denigrating your perceived enemies. His own beliefs are kept hidden; if he has any. He adopts beliefs based on what the highest bidders tell him to believe and that is why his opinions seem to change daily.
Everyone keeps asking, "What is Romney, at his core?" Let's face it: Willard has no core.
Monday, September 3, 2012 GOP: You Can Put Lipstick On Paul Ryan, But He Is Still Paul RyanSHARE
Congressman Paul Ryan, the GOP nominee for Vice-President, has always been so concerned about the welfare of this country that on the evening of Barack Obama's Inauguration in 2009, he was meeting with about 15 other equally patriotic leaders of the Republican party, strategizing about just how they could best work with the new President to save the economy and the people of this country from the worst recession the U.S. had seen since The Great Depression.
Truth be told, Paul Ryan and his patriotic buddies were doing just the opposite. They were plotting to destroy this new President even if it meant jeopardizing the country and every single man, woman and child in it.

I have never bought into the whole voter ID scam because I know history and bullshit. Doesn’t it strike anyone as hypocritical that the small government advocates, who hate mandates have mandated that everyone has to have a government ID? In light of the fact that voter fraud is virtually non-existent, there’s no reason to believe that the same identification process that has always worked will continue to serve us well. Still, there’s nothing like personal experience to give validity to one’s argument.
Saturday, June 16, 2012 Sacky: Romney Wasn't Breast Fed!SHARE
Enjoy Sacky, She is America's favorite progressive pooch, full of Wit, Wisedom, and Wisecracks.
Today, Man's Best Friend Takes on Mitt Romney. Sacky believes some of Mitt's issues may stem from never being breastfed...It's as good a theory as any other out there!
Monday, May 28, 2012 Birth Control and Government - Uncle Sam was an AbortionistSHARE
The government has a history of taking over people’s reproductive future. In the first half of the twentieth century, the United States promoted efforts to “breed better human beingsâ€. The pseudoscience, called eugenics included forced abortions, sterilization, and other methods of family planning.
When the Nazis went on trial after World War II, for war crimes in Nuremberg, they justified their mass sterilizations by citing the United States as their inspiration. And just as the rich and powerful promoted the Nazi Holocaust, in the United States, eugenics was driven by the elite.
Theodore Roosevelt said that "Society has no business to permit degenerates to reproduce their kind."

During the campaign, I was thousands of miles away, but as I watched it unfold, it was painfully obvious to me that America is nowhere near being post-racial and the southern strategy is not dead. I knew, that if elected, Barack Obama would become the object of the keenest scrutiny any President has ever been subjected to and his race, birthplace, indeed birthright and religion would dominate social concerns. America has not disappointed me.
As I’ve watched President Obama labor against impossible odds, one thing became obvious to me, I would cast my vote for him in 2012 because his presidency calls upon all the ugliness that this nation needs to face.
(2 comments) Tuesday, May 22, 2012 Cory Booker and the Bain of Private EquitySHARE
I love Cory Booker, but he needs to get over it. There is more than one kind of private equity...indeed since the 80's or the time when leverage buyouts were king, private equity has expanded to mean different business forms. I’ve labored over how to explain this in simple terms, so this may read like the most elementary article you’ve ever read, but here goes:
Like many corporations, Bain had more than one division for doing business; a venture capital division; a leverage buyout division as well as others. While they are all under the same umbrella, they operate very differently. Generally private equity firms provide working capital to a target company to nurture expansion, new product development, or restructuring of the company’s operations, management, or ownership. That is a far cry from what the Leverage Buyout arm of Bain Capital was doing.
Monday, May 21, 2012 Memo To Mitt Romney: How Many Dead Jews Have You Baptized By Proxy?SHARE
If Mitt Romney's Supporters Use Jeremiah Wright Against Obama, Mormonism Will Be Scrutinized Like Never Before.
Memo To Mitt (May 20, 2012):
Trust me, you do NOT want your supporters to start using Jeremiah Wright as a weapon against President Obama, and here are a few reasons why:
•The Mormon Church and its beliefs, secrets and practices will become an issue.
•Supporters, and even non-supporters of the President will come out in force to expose the seedier side of Mormonism, and that will hurt you.
•You will be asked repeatedly, "How many dead Jews have you, yourself, baptized Mormon, by proxy?"
•Why does the Mormon Church keep a list of Jews that they plan to baptize after they die?
•How many times has Anne Frank been baptized Mormon?
•Why do Mormons believe it is okay to lie to everyone, unless that person is another Mormon?

Dangerous drugs being pushed on this country's unsuspecting citizens with the help of government? No way, you say?
The pharmaceutical industry partners with the U.S. government by using human lab rats.
Chantix, the popular smoking cessation drug is back in the news as lawsuits against the drug maker mount in both state and federal courts. In 2008, investigations by ABC News and The Washington Times found that mentally distressed veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan are being recruited for government tests on pharmaceutical drugs linked to suicide and other violent side effects. Members of Congress called for an immediate suspension of the government tests citing nearly 40 suicides and more than 400 incidents of suicidal behavior linked to Chantix.
(1 comments) Tuesday, May 1, 2012 The Republican War on Women Is A Myth! It Is All An Illusion! Republicans Love Mom and Apple Pie!SHARE
No one wants to limit the rights of women. The votes and statements made by Republicans are just an illusion...
The GOP says they do not seek to deny women basic preventive healthcare, they just vote to deny it. Republicans would never wage a war against women because Republicans love women. That is a fact, as any self-respecting Republican will swear to. All you have heard or seen that suggests otherwise is simply a figment of the underactive, hormonally-controlled, left-sided brain dysfunction that afflicts so many women. It is a serious medical condition that compromizes logical thought. Simply put, women's brains do not work as well as the Republican male brain. Because women are so ill-equipped to analyze and correctly process information, they are unable to come to rational conclusions (that left-sided brain dysfunction) and women, therefore, need direction and guidance.
(2 comments) Saturday, December 24, 2011 Your Health Insurance Company Has Offshored Your Most Sensitive Personal Information!SHARE
If you have United Health Care, Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield of California or Blue Cross/Blue Shield, your most sensitive personal information is in the Philippines, India and countless other foreign countries. The above companies are not the only ones that have released your 'private' information to foreign companies, but they are among the largest and richest.
Bad enough that foreign companies and workers have your medical history, they also have access to your address, phone number, social security number, date of birth and information about every medical condition for which you have sought treatment. They know virtually everything about you and even though you think that your information is safe, think again.
Saturday, November 12, 2011 Like Being Monitored? The Fed Watches Every Prescription Medication You Take! Your State May Watch You, Too!SHARE
If you ever have any concerns about your right to privacy, don't worry. Your right to privacy in this country is imaginary. If you take any prescription medications, the government knows and tracks them. In 2005, President George W. Bush signed into law the Federal Prescription Database Law. The law provided for the creation of a national database to list the prescribed medications you take. The database also tracks how often you purchase those medications. The database and the information recorded has been used by the government for many purposes; one of which is to determine criminal behavior such as doctor shopping. That, however, is just the tip of the iceberg. Law enforcement, medical providers and pharmacies have access to your medication records. The question of hacker access is also a concern.
The loss of privacy is good for you...Your government says so...
