It seems that the Democrats have deliberately made immigration the main issue of the upcoming elections. Because Republicans don't know how to deal with immigration. It is quite clear that immigrants who have already arrived in the United States cannot be deported. It's simply not possible. It is quite clear that by fighting immigration, Republicans are turning against themselves the majority of the population that is immigrants or associated with them. Worst of all, the fight against immigration only strengthens the power of Democrats who act as defenders of immigrants. This appeals not only to immigrants, but also to many sentimental New Yorkers.
